- The situation in Ukraine’s energy system remains challenging. Ongoing Russian attacks on energy facilities and severe weather conditions have necessitated the application of restrictions across the entire country.
- Last night, the enemy attacked energy infrastructure in several regions. As a result, power outages affected consumers in Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv regions as of this morning. Emergency restoration works are ongoing wherever security conditions allow.
- The most difficult situation remains in the Kyiv metropolitan area. Distribution system operators are applying network restrictions, and previously published hourly outage schedules are temporarily suspended. Return from network restrictions to planned hourly outage schedules will occur immediately after the situation in the energy system stabilizes. Emergency restoration works in the capital and surrounding region continue around the clock, despite severe weather. As in previous weeks, network restrictions remain in Odesa region, where emergency restoration works continue following previous attacks.
- In all regions of Ukraine, hourly outage schedules are in effect for all consumer categories, along with power limitation schedules for industry. In several regions, emergency outages are being applied due to equipment overload during periods of extremely high consumption in cold weather. Return to normal hourly outage schedules will take place after the situation stabilizes.
- Due to massive attacks by the Russian Federation, a state of emergency is in effect in Ukraine’s energy system. Coordination of restoration and emergency response is led by First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal. Relevant operational headquarters have already been activated, and all services are working in an enhanced mode.
- The First Deputy Minister called on Ukrainians to minimize the load on the energy system and limit the use of high-power electrical appliances until the end of the week. Energy-efficient consumption will help reduce the duration of forced power outages.
