Ukraine has received four generators with a total capacity of 1.62 MW from the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation (Enabel). The equipment has already been transferred to the Kyiv municipal company Kyivteploenergo.

During the official handover ceremony, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Valentyna Moskalenko expressed her gratitude to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ukraine, Luc Jacobs, and the Director of Enabel in Ukraine, Dirk Depre, for the equipment and for Belgium’s consistent support of Ukraine’s energy sector.

“This is not just equipment. It is timely and practical support that strengthens the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system at a time when our critical infrastructure remains under constant attack. We sincerely appreciate our Belgian partners for their solidarity with Ukraine, their trust, and their readiness not only to declare support but to implement it through concrete actions,” Valentyna Moskalenko stated.

Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received more than 154 tons of humanitarian assistance for the energy sector from Belgium, as well as EUR 2.5 million in contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

With Belgian grant funding, procurement procedures were conducted and solar power plants were purchased for healthcare facilities under the “Ray of Hope” initiative.

Furthermore, under the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and Enabel, signed during the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 in Rome, the Belgian side is financing a repair campaign for a turbogenerator at one of Ukraine’s thermal power plants.

In addition, within the framework of completed and ongoing projects, Enabel has supplied - or plans to supply - generators, mobile boiler houses, solid-fuel boilers, and equipment for cogeneration units.
