Since the launch of the “Ray of Hope” project, solar power plants have already been installed and are generating electricity at 56 healthcare facilities, including 14 in frontline regions. The total installed capacity amounts to 5,219 kW.

Work is currently ongoing at 83 additional sites, with three of them at the final stage. A further 123 healthcare facilities are undergoing procurement procedures.

The “Ray of Hope” programme is a joint initiative of the European Commission, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, implemented since March 2023 within the Ukraine Energy Support Fund mechanism and coordinated by the Energy Community Secretariat.

The programme aims to enhance the energy resilience of healthcare institutions by equipping them with solar panels, energy storage systems, and related equipment to ensure reliable electricity supply.
