First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held an online meeting with Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Energy and Tourism of Austria. The parties discussed Ukraine’s needs amid the ongoing energy emergency and agreed to review all urgent requirements regarding the transfer of reserve or used equipment from Austrian power plants to Ukraine.

As Denys Shmyhal noted, Austria has already announced an additional EUR 3 million in humanitarian assistance for Ukraine. Ukraine also highly appreciates Austria’s overall contribution of EUR 15.5 million to the Energy Support Fund.

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Austria for their consistent support of Ukraine’s energy resilience.

“We are grateful for the assistance provided by Austrian businesses, which have supplied equipment for underground gas storage facilities, combined heat and power plants, and gas production capacities. Any support is crucial for Ukraine to build reserves and prepare for the next heating season,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
