Australia will allocate another €6 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing its total contribution to over €18 million.

This was announced by the country's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Penny Wong, during her visit to Kyiv.

At a meeting with Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Energy, Roman Andarak, Penny Wong assured that Australia will continue to support Ukraine and its energy sector. She also condemned russian attacks on energy infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of countering such actions.

Roman Andarak thanked the Australian side for its assistance to Ukraine's energy sector since the first days of russia's full-scale invasion and highlighted the effectiveness of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

"Recently announced donor contributions to the Fund have reached €1 billion. This is a significant achievement and robust support from international partners. The Fund is an effective mechanism through which partners monitor implementation, procurement processes, and fund utilization," noted the Deputy Minister.

During the meeting, Roman Andarak also briefed Penny Wong on the measures being taken to strengthen the resilience of Ukraine's energy system under continuous enemy attacks: "Our priorities include protecting energy facilities, conducting repairs, restoring infrastructure, and developing distributed generation and backup power capacities to meet the needs of critical infrastructure."
