First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov participated in the forum “Charge and Earn,” which brought together over 300 representatives of the energy sector. The event served as a platform for exchanging experiences, finding practical solutions, and developing a shared vision for the energy storage systems market.

“Energy storage systems are no longer plans for the future; they are an integral part of Ukraine’s modern energy policy. We understand that today, amid continuous attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure, energy storage systems can become a key element that enhances the resilience, flexibility, and stability of our energy system,” emphasized Artem Nekrasov.

According to him, energy storage installations play a crucial role in the decarbonization process and in ensuring Ukraine’s energy security. Their implementation contributes to greater system resilience, energy efficiency, and autonomy for both private consumers and enterprises.

Artem Nekrasov also presented the analytical report “Development of the Energy Storage Sector in Ukraine”, prepared by the Ministry of Energy’s Recovery and Reform Support Team based on feedback from market participants in the energy storage sector.

“The report contains an analysis of best practices in energy storage systems internationally and in Ukraine. While working on the document, we jointly with business representatives identified industry challenges and potential solutions. Recommendations were prepared for the government, investors, and partners. I am confident that the analysis developed by experts and business stakeholders can serve as a practical roadmap for the sector’s development,” added Artem Nekrasov.

During the forum, participants also discussed the role of energy storage systems in buying electricity at low prices and selling it during peak hours, challenges and opportunities for investors, and the potential participation of energy storage in all market segments. Business representatives shared their own experiences in implementing energy storage systems.

The forum “Charge and Earn: How Energy Storage Systems Open New Opportunities in the Electricity Market” was organized by PJSC “Market Operator” and the Ukrainian Solar Energy Association.
