Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatoliy Kutsevol held a meeting with representatives of the World Bank, during which the parties discussed priorities for supporting Ukraine’s energy sector, its restoration and modernization, as well as the deployment of energy storage systems.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that close coordination with international partners enables the rapid mobilization of resources for the repair and modernization of energy facilities.
“The effective operation of private companies, combined with partnerships with international financial institutions, significantly accelerates the implementation of power generation development projects,” Anatoliy Kutsevol noted.
He also welcomed the World Bank’s decision to allocate an additional USD 40 million to NPC Ukrenergo for the procurement of critical equipment required to restore the power system.
Anatoliy Kutsevol highlighted the importance of implementing the RAMP UP project - “Accelerating Renewable Energy Sources and Market Development for Ukraine” - which is expected to attract additional investment for the development and expansion of renewable energy sources.
World Bank representatives confirmed their readiness to continue providing financial and technical assistance to Ukraine, as well as to cooperate in the preparation and implementation of projects aimed at strengthening the country’s energy security.
“I am grateful to the World Bank for its systematic support to Ukraine. Cooperation with international partners allows us to promptly mobilize resources for the repair and modernization of critical energy system facilities,” Anatoliy Kutsevol emphasized.
