Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatolii Kutsevol held a meeting with a Spanish delegation led by Clara Guzmán Zapater, Head of the Spanish Office for the Reconstruction of Ukraine. The parties discussed areas of cooperation and potential joint projects aimed at the recovery and development of Ukraine’s energy sector.

Anatolii Kutsevol expressed gratitude to Spain for its continued support, including 27 humanitarian shipments of energy equipment and contributions totaling €4.5 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

The Deputy Minister outlined the key priorities of Ukraine’s fuel and energy sector, as well as the current needs of energy companies. These include equipment for repair works, technologies to expand generation capacity, and resources required for preparations for the upcoming heating season.

Ukraine is interested in deepening cooperation with Spanish manufacturers of high-voltage equipment, power grid components, automation systems, and other technologies used in electricity generation, transmission, and distribution.

The parties also discussed the possibility of utilizing equipment from Spanish thermal power plants that have been decommissioned or are currently undergoing closure procedures to support the needs of Ukraine’s energy sector.

The Spanish side reaffirmed its readiness to further strengthen cooperation and implement joint projects. According to Ms. Guzmán Zapater, various mechanisms are currently being explored to facilitate Spain’s participation in Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts, including through private-sector engagement.
