Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatolii Kutsevol held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine, Thomas Lund-Sørensen.
The parties discussed ongoing cooperation projects in the energy sector, as well as prospective areas for further collaboration.
The Deputy Minister briefed the Ambassador on the current situation in Ukraine’s energy system, outlined key priorities in preparation for the upcoming heating season, and presented the current needs of the country’s energy sector.
Particular attention during the meeting was paid to issues of decentralisation and the development of distributed generation, including the supply of relevant equipment, the specifics of its installation procedures, and the protection of energy facilities.
Anatolii Kutsevol expressed his gratitude to Denmark for its steadfast support for Ukraine and its long-standing contribution to the restoration of the energy sector, in particular within the framework of the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Partnership. He emphasized that Ukraine highly values Denmark’s contribution of €67.8 million to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine, as well as nearly 100 tonnes of humanitarian assistance in the form of energy equipment.
The Ambassador, in turn, reaffirmed Denmark’s commitment to continuing this support and informed about the delivery to Ukraine of a high-capacity transformer essential for strengthening the resilience of the energy system. The parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the production of transformer equipment.
The meeting further addressed coordination of participation in international events. Anatolii Kutsevol invited Danish representatives to take part in events marking the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster, as well as in the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026), which will take place in June in Poland.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their engagement with a view to deepening mutually beneficial cooperation.
