The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine, Natalka Cmoc.
The parties discussed ways to deepen cooperation to strengthen Ukraine's and Europe’s energy security, as well as to weaken russia’s influence on global energy markets.
German Galushchenko informed the Ambassador about the situation in Ukraine’s fuel and energy sector in light of continued enemy attacks on energy infrastructure facilities.
"No energy system in the world has faced challenges like ours. But we still have light, we still have heating. Our energy workers are doing everything possible to keep the system stable despite constant shelling," the minister stated.
The discussion focused on enhancing cooperation to ensure the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system and Europe’s overall energy security, particularly through collaboration with Canadian energy companies and the use of alternative supply routes for energy resources.
Special attention was given to the need to strengthen the protection of Ukraine’s energy facilities, as well as cooperation within the G7+ framework to continue providing assistance to Ukraine’s energy sector.
