Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak held a meeting with representatives of the British Embassy in Ukraine, focusing on British support for restoring energy infrastructure following russian attacks and preparing for the upcoming autumn-winter period.
"The energy system is currently balanced; however, russian attacks could change the situation. We are conducting repairs and increasing distributed and backup generation capacities to support critical infrastructure, which still has unmet needs. We continue to stockpile energy resources to ensure stability through the heating season," Mr. Andarak noted.
The Deputy Minister thanked the British partners for their support of Ukraine’s energy sector and highlighted current needs, including gas turbines, gas piston engines, and powerful generators. Discussions also covered the protection of Ukrainian energy facilities, emphasizing the effectiveness of the protective equipment provided by the UK.
Embassy representatives reaffirmed that the UK will prolong the close cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and continue its assistance to Ukraine's energy sector. Both sides discussed further collaboration tools, including through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and other mechanisms, as well as opportunities to engage the British private sector more actively.
Another topic was the implementation of the second phase of the "InnovateUkraine" Green Innovation Fund, initiated by the UK government.
